The photo of Tokyo Newspaper's top article on the 6 April morning with the caption of anti-nukes local government leaders's gathering has been calling many visitors on the web.  I first shared it in Facebook, and then posted it in TwitPic http://twitpic.com/96jtpb which was visited by more than 1000 viewers with joy in the first 20 hours.

The news is the fact that this article was released as the top news of the day amidst the Government's desperate struggle to go ahead with reopening of Ohi Nuclear Power Plant.  The bravery shown by The Tokyo Newspaper is so rare to find under the pressure from the nuclear mafia where all the major media hardly criticize the presence of nuclear power.  The worst is Yomiuri which was basically founded to brainwash the Japanese for the purpose of using nuclear power even after the atomic bombs hit Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

It should be appropriate enough to call this coverage "brave" since Tokyo NP's parent company is Chubu Newspaper, and its major shareholders include Chube Electric, meaning, the local company is under control by the electric allies.  So, both papers sometimes have to keep silent like other media as well.

In talking of "bravery", we also recall that Hiroshi Yasuda, the 54 year-old executive managing director of Jonan Shinkin Bank (the venue of the Conference described below) was found dead on 9 June 2011, some time after the Bank declared its policy to become free from nuclear power.  (Ref.  http://www.asyura2.com/11/genpatu13/msg/697.html the Yomiuri 6/10 source article, which I did see, linked inside has been deleted including the cache.)

Anti-Nuke Local Government Leaders Into A Scrum

"Conference of Local Government Leaders to Achieve Nuclear Power Free Society (temtative indication)" is reportedly called by 15 local political leaders who declared abandonment of nuclear power generation, in view of the last year's acceident of Tokyo Electric Power Company's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant.

The leaders invite all the other local administrative leaders in the country, and are going to hold the inaugural meeting on 28th April at Jonan Shinkin Bank in Shinagawa Tokyo.  The bank also maintains the anti-nuke policy.

The Conference's purpose is to realize the zero-nuke society promptly, not allowing any new construction of a nuclear power plant.  Gen Mikami, Mayor of Kosai City, Shizuoka Prefecture and Kimiko Uehara, a former Mayor of Kunitachi City, Tokyo, who attended Global Conference for a Nuclear Power Free World held in Yokohama in January, hit it off to build a sustainable network of local government leaders, and have proceeded toward the establishment.

Tatsuya Murakami, Mayor of Tokai Village, Ibaraki Prefecture where Japan Atomic Power Company's Tokai 2nd Nuclear Power Plant is located, and Katsunobu Sakurai, Mayor of Minamisoma City, Fukushima near Fukushima Daiichi Power Plant, and other leaders joined as callers.  Eleven of them are currently in the office, while Eisaku Sato, the former Governor of Fukushima Prefecture and Taro Kono, Lower House member of LDP, Takashi Shinohara, Lower House member of DPJ, Mizuho Fukushima, SDP Chief will take up the positions advisors.


Mayor Gen MikamiThe Charter maintains that the Fukushima accident gave an end to the safety mith of nuclear power plants, and that it is unacceptable the economy be prioritized over sacrifice of residents.  It also argues that they will voice the goal of the society that does not rely on the nuclear power, and the need of realizing renewable energy as local policies.

The Conference members are going to hold semianual meetings to share information and study in order to make specific policies for zero nuclear power generation as well as introduction of renewable energy. At the end of March, they sent by post invitation letters for joining the initiative to some 1700 mayors of cities, wards, towns and villages all over Japan.

Mayor Mikami, in Kosai City talks of his determination, "I have kept thinking over a year that we must unite local political leaders toward zero nuclear power generation.  The political leaders' responsibility is protect lives and properties of the residents."

We'll Never Give Up! No Debris! No Restart of Ohi Nuke Plant!!

This Friday was a busy day - I couldn't complete this post before the date changed.

Till late in the morning, I was still struggling to send out a few messages with source links to Kobe, Akashi, Kakogawa mayers and Hyogo Pref. Governor, to request them to stop accepting radioactive contaminated debris that they plan to reach the conclusion on Monday.

The evidences of deaths or hospitalizations obviously from breathing in the fume of burnt debris are increasing, even though the mass media neglect reporting on these facts.  (We get information from quite reliable independent sources including real insider friends.)

After some sleep, in the evening, I prepared for watching live videos/tweets/photos of the people gathering in Tokyo (Prime Minister's Official House), Osaka (Kansai Electric's Main Building) and Kyoto to protest against the Noda administration's crazy instant decision to resume Ohi Nuclear Plant operation.  They even decided to neglect local prefectures' opinions such as Kyoto and Shiga (if Lake Biwa is contaminated, at least 12 million people will be immediately affected).  Well, I would welcome neglecting local opinions if for not building or operating any nuclear power stations that can affect anyone not just in this country but all over the world, indeed.

We must stop Ohi Power Plants by all means to prove that Fukushima Disaster gave us enough lesson of how much risks we had for almost no benefits.  The pro-nukes are even more desperate to re-operate Ohi as the starting point to make other nuke plants such as Ikata and Genkai plants follow it.

The notification of gatherings was distributed quite late in the evening/night after we saw the 4/5 ridiculous news that the four crazy men in the Government with no radiation expertise decided (obviously under pressure from the Electric vested-interest groups) the newly introduced safety rules were going to be applied to Ohi Plant for reopening.

Silly, huh? The new safety measures were fixed (with lots of loopholes) in two days by non-experts who have never taken any responsibility for Fukushima catastrophe yet.  Not even one victim has been rescued yet.  Kids in Fukushima are still exposed to incredibly high radiation.  School children all over Japan have been subject to unchecked school lunches (except a few as some school began monitoring albeit with quite a loose benchmark - as the budget and time are limited).

The Goverment's referees were Nuclear Safety Commission that proved its inability to prevent, or rather caused the Fukushima explosions, but haven't been arrested yet.  Neither arrested yet are TEPCO's management who historically neglected countless essential safety measures.  Both the management and the permanent employees are enjoying reduced-but-still-much-higher-than-average income levels including "BONUS" in June and December.  On the other hand, many residents in (or evacuees from)  Fukushima are suffering for e.g., double loans for lands and houses where they won't be able to live forever.  Some committed suicide already.  Though the media ignores, we know of quite a few Fukushima radiation-related deaths in the past year.

Embedded above are the videos of Tokyo Actions against the four men in Prime Minister Office (wish there were English subtitles as every speech was worthwhile while our initiatives are slowly growing the way it never happened in the modern history - people from every level/generation/class/industry stood together in the cold wind without much preparation but by very short notice.

The rest of us in Twitter/Facebook/Ustream members sent our spirit there by commenting/communicating to realize we are together indeed.

We take this opportunity to change this rotten country for the first time that began last year without knowing till when we will have to fight the nuclear mafia.  Certainly the civil war between money-seekers and life-protectors are going on.  Some have been already killed and reported as sudden deaths or unconvincing "suicide".  The court is on the pro-nukes side just as most other countries which operate nuclear power plants.

I am starting this record of my post-311 lives today where the Japanese Government is ready to give a go to Ohi Nuclear Power Plant of Kansai Electric, attempting to re-operate at least one reactor before the last one still in operation i.e., Tomari #3 in Hokkaido stops.

It is pro-nukes desire not to give any break to nuclear electric generation despite this; no any single problem has been solved in Fukushima, and #4 is still hung from the half-broken building containing many enough fuel rods to cause necessity of evacuation of the 30 million people in Tokyo Metro area.  The radioactively contaminated crops and fishes have been scattered all over Japan, and now the debris are also being spread for "burning".  The situation is now getting worse than Belarus where the younger die faster than the older due to the genetic effects of internal radiation that began those kids or even some of their parents were born.

We are witnessing that the nightmare of the World War II is being repeated as if the atomic bombs were dropped in some other countries, and no one of remembers how cruelly massive firebombs burned our parents' or grandparents' towns.  We knew our politicians and bureaucrats are nuts and the media were even worse, but never knew how much worse they could keep going.  I eventually traced back our history for 400 years as to how we lost our individuality and became this obedient the way very few of other ethnicity could be.

The reason I declare the starting point of this record is that I will also write by backdating what have happened in our lives since the 3.11 disaster in 2011.  I don't keep diary but can dig up tons of data from the digital logs with many links.  (Maybe I should change the font color up to yesterday, 5 April 2012 - hoping to catch up with ongoing posts.)

 I was living in the central Tokyo till the end of May last year, and moved out of my still-shaking flat back to my hometown in Kobe area, to the parents' house I had never dreamed of coming back to.  I loved the Tokyo life so much from the day one in 1986 (except some four years in total spent in the UK in 1990's and 2001).

The room in which I sleep now is where I experienced the 1.17 Hanshin-Awaji Great Earthquake in 1995 when I was briefly back to stay with my parents from the UK.

There have been quite a few issues that turned out to be common between these two catastrophes - both as geoscientific phenomena and human errors.

Many of us in Japanese who have been connected in social networks; Twitter, Facebook, etc., are now aware that what we know must be shared with anyone living on the Earth even though everyone is holding their share of increasing problems especially in the so-called "developed" countries, the legacies of 20th century.

I have friends around the world with rich multi-cultural background.  After the dreadful Tsunami videos and images appeared on the TV screens, they asked me if I was okay mainly by email (it would have been more by phone if the epicenter had been Tokyo).

The mainstream media kept reporting on Tsunami-hit areas in Iwate and Miyagi Prefectures, but anything related to true danger of nuclear power plants and radiation has been either hidden or distorted.  In the first few days after the series of Fukushima Daiichi explosions, I was unbelievably ignorant.

While most of my friends are maybe too old to "live" in the SNS world, I occasionally tried to share the information I got day to day by emailing them.  The result was, almost everyone was as indifferent as I used to be till a year ago.  Not just when I used BCC distribution, but even when I write personally, the feedback is almost none.

It made me want to leave this blog in case someone need to refer to in the future if the Earth is lucky enough not to be destroyed by the nuclear.
